Management at a service station in Ballinrobe have opted to close the shop for the time being due to “Covid impacts” on the business.

Corrib Oil Ballinrobe will close for what management is hoping will be a “limited period of time” due to the impact of the virus on members of their staff.

Last Sunday, management said that due to a Covid issue among some staff members, they would be taking the precautionary measure of closing the deli in the store on Bank Holiday Monday for deep cleaning and full sanitisation.

In a statement last night on their Facebook page, management said they tried to remain open and work within public health guidelines but now it was clear that they would need close temporarily.

“Unfortunately, the situation has further developed this evening and we now feel that the only alternative at this time to protect staff and customers is to close our doors. We hope this will be for a limited period,” they said.
