An Garda Siochana is investigating an alleged assault that occurred in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, February 17, resulting in one person attending hospital for treatment.

The incident took place in the Swinford area.

The alleged injured party is a male in his 30s.

Gardaí have arrested a man in his early 20s in connection with the incident and are not currently seeking any further assistance from the public in relation to the matter.
