Covid-19 patient numbers at Mayo University Hospital have climbed again with 91 confirmed cases at the hospital as of 8pm last night.

The numbers at the hospital increased by nine compared to the previous day. There are seven suspected Covid-19 cases at MUH. MUH’s Covid numbers are the eighth highest in the country.

The hospital had just one available general bed at 8pm last night and three critical care beds were available. There was one suspected Covid-19 case being treated in the hospital’s critical care unit.

University Hospital Galway has 116 patients with the virus while 32 Covid-19 cases are being treated at Sligo University Hospital.

The number of patients with Covid-19 in hospitals has increased to 1,700, according to Health Service Executive CEO Paul Reid.

There are 143 patients with Covid-19 in ICUs, with over half of these on ventilators.

Thirteen hospitals are now listed as having no intensive care beds free. There are 30 ICU beds available in the system for adult patients, according to overnight figures from the HSE.
