Irish Water and Mayo County Council wish to advise customers in the following areas in Westport: Lodge Road, Slogger, Monamore, Knockranny, Buckwaria and the Clogher GWS, that their water supply has been impacted as a result of a burst to a water main on the grounds of Allergan. Approximately 1,000 people are affected by this unplanned outage.

Repairs are complex and will extend into tomorrow. Updates will be available on the supply and service section of Irish Water’s website at www.water.ie/water-supply/supply-and-service-update/.

An alternative water supply is available for customers at the entrance to Buckwaria Road near Rice College. Customers are advised to bring their own containers when availing of the alternative supply and to boil the alternative water supply before use as a precaution.

Irish Water’s customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 and customers can also contact on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For updates please see the water supply and services section of their website.

Irish Water continues to work at this time with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
