A master Mayo goldsmith is offering a lavish prize worth €4000 as part of a fundraising campaign for a little boy with a rare childhood cancer.

Castlebar-based jewellery maker Nigel O’Reilly has teamed up with the Auryn’s Heroes campaign to aid in the campaign to get five-year-old Auryn Phelan to the US for a vaccine that will help prevent a relapse of his rare Neuroblastoma condition.

Auryn’s parents Trisha and Barry hail from Castlebar and Sligo. They are attempting to raise €375,000 to help their little boy get the vaccine he needs.

The competition winner will receive a €4,000 gift card for Nigel O’Reilly’s jewellery. Some of the goldsmith’s stunning work recently went to auction at Sotheby’s in New York.

The lucky winner can arrange a studio visit/call/Zoom with Nigel where he will give you an overview of how to choose a stunning diamond or other gemstone and how he can craft your bespoke piece in his studio to ensure it lasts a lifetime
