A fifth case of Covid-19 has been confirmed at a Mayo secondary school. This is the highest number of cases confirmed in any school in the county since schools re-opened in September.
Staff and students at the school were informed of the positive case.
In a letter to parents of students at the school sent from the HSE yesterday evening, it was noted that a public health risk assessment has been undertaken and the case was not in attendance at the school during the infectious period, ‘nor do we believe they contracted Covid-19 while attending the school’.
The Western People is not publishing the specific locations of schools to protect the privacy of staff and pupils.
