Mark Moran will make his first senior championship start for Mayo in this Sunday’s Connacht SFC Final, after the Westport man was named at centre-forward in place of Belmullet’s Ryan O’Donoghue, in what is manager James Horan’s only change to his team that beat Roscommon in Hyde Park last Sunday.

Moran was named Man of the Match when last the team’s met, with Mayo recording a fifteen points victory over the Tribesmen on that occasion in last month’s National Football League clash at Tuam Stadium.

This weekend’s clash is fixed for Pearse Stadium in Salthill and Mayo are bidding to lift the Nestor Cup for the first time in five seasons.

The match will be a landmark occasion for Kevin McLoughlin who is set to make his 65th championship appearance having first featured in the 2009 campaign away to New York. In total, this will be the Knockmore attacker’s 143rd senior appearance.

Galway manager Padraig Joyce is due to reveal his team later this evening.
