The official trailer for the movie Wild Mountain Thyme has just been released, affording an eagerly anticipated preview of Mayo’s latest big screen debut.
The production, which stars Jamie Dornan, Emily Blunt, Christopher Walken, Jon Hamm and Dearbhla Molloy, was filmed on location in the Crossmolina area over several weeks in late 2019.
The American film distributor Bleecker Street published the two minute 50 second trailer (watch below) earlier today with the following blurb:
“John Patrick Shanley, who created the classic Moonstruck, brings his sweeping romantic vision to Ireland with Wild Mountain Thyme. The headstrong farmer Rosemary Muldoon (Emily Blunt) has her heart set on winning her neighbor Anthony Reilly’s love. The problem is Anthony (Jamie Dornan) seems to have inherited a family curse, and remains oblivious to his beautiful admirer. Stung by his father Tony Reilly’s (Christopher Walken) plans to sell the family farm to his American nephew (Jon Hamm), Anthony is jolted into pursing his dreams in this comedic, moving and wildly romantic tale.
“Wild Mountain Thyme” is scheduled for cinematic release in the US on December 11 next but Irish audiences will have to wait a little longer to watch it on the big screen.
The Irish release will be announced in due course by the production’s Irish distributor but is likely to be in the first half of 2021 when, it is hoped, cinemas will be open again.
