Irish Water, working in partnership with Mayo County Council and Source Civil Limited, is about to undertake water mains works in the Ballycastle area in order to ensure safety of supply for residents and businesses.
The works are part of a scheme that will see the Ballycastle Public Water Supply connected to the Ballina Regional Water Supply Scheme which will benefit 360 local residents and businesses.
Irish Water is advising that the works will entail short water supply disruptions today, Tuesday, October 13 in the Ballycastle West District Meter Area from 4pm to 7pm.
Most customers should have their normal water supply restored by 7pm but in high lying areas or outlying areas it may take a little while longer for water to return to the network.
The utilities company says it understands the inconvenience when an outage occurs and thanks customers in advance for their patience while these essential connections are made.
Customer queries can be directed to the helpline which is open 24/7 on 1850 278 278 or via the Twitter handle @IWCare.

Irish Water continues to work at this time with our Local Authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of both staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of critical drinking water and wastewater services. Irish Water would like to remind people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
