They entered this year’s F1 in Schools competition under the name Annex Racing and were declared one of four Irish teams to qualify for the world final of the competition which has been put back to 2021 as a result of Covid-19.

This annual event promotes learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) by challenging students to design, manufacture and race model Formula 1 cars.

Annex Racing is the third team from St Muredach’s College in Ballina to make it to the F1 in Schools world finals in recent years.

The Ballina team boasts the fastest car out of the four Irish finalists of this year’s competition, qualifying them to make the trip to Australia for the world final next year.

There will be major costs in travelling to the event however and so Annex Racing has teamed up with local company, Connolly Motor Group, to launch a fantastic fundraising raffle.

A 2021 Audi A3 Sportback is the top prize and tickets cost just €20 each or buy three for €50 using the special code WINA32021.

You can enter online via this link:

The draw will be held on New Year’s Eve next, leaving one lucky ticket holder poised to drive into 2021 in real style.
