It was a successful weekend for Mayo athletes at the Irish Life Health National Championships at Morton Stadium, Santry. Sarah Quinn of the St Colman’s South Mayo athletics club claimed gold in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.67 but faced a close battle with Lilly-Ann O’Hora (Dooneen) who was in the lead coming to the last hurdle and finished with a time of 13.73, claiming silver.

Molly Scott (SLOT) was third in 14.11. Quinn, a native of Ballinrobewas delighted with her performance, as she claimed gold in the U23 category.

Micheala Walsh (Swinford) also won the Senior Women’s shot putt competition with 14.19m and U23 gold to go along with it. This was Michaela’s 9th National Senior title, a remarkable achievement for the 21-year-old.
