Erris is aiming to establish itself as an ideal remote working location.

A special Grow Remote events takes place in Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, at 3pm on Monday, August 17. The event will be live-streamed on the ‘What’s On in Belmullet’ Facebook Page, so it will be accessible from anywhere in the world.

If you are considering working and living in Erris, or if you are already doing so, there will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the benefits and support systems available to you.

Grow Remote was founded in Ireland, as a not-for-profit volunteer-led community platform, which enables people to work, live and participate locally. The organisation already has a number of Mayo branches.

The workplace has changed a lot in recent years. However, as a result of this year’s international pandemic, it has now completely transformed. Now that people realise a great deal of our work can be achieved from home, the possibilities are endless. Remote working from places like Erris – voted the best place in Ireland to go wild – is both feasible and attractive.

This event will include representatives from: Grow Remote, Erris Chamber of Commerce, Belmullet Community Futures, Digital Hub Network, Commissiún Forbartha an Iarthair, gTeic, Údarás na Gaeltachta, Mayo Co. Co., Mayo Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and Mayo Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (MSLETB).

A number of local businesses will also be in attendance to provide information on properties, social activities, cultural activities, cúrsaí Gaeilge and all that Erris has to offer for remote workers, start-up business and families in the region.
