Mayo’s newest Aldi store will open its doors to customers next month.
Located in Belmullet, this will be the fourth Aldi store to open in Mayo since 2007, with existing stores located in Claremorris, Castlebar and Ballinrobe. It opens for business on Thursday, August 13.
The new supermarket boasts a large shop floor spanning 1,140 sq m, 100 free car parking spaces, eight bike racks allowing for 16 bikes, wide aisles and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.
The new outlet is part of Aldi’s commitment to its Irish store network with a €100m investment in constructing and opening new stores, while Project Fresh sees Aldi invest a further €60m investment to revamp the layout and design of all stores nationwide.
Colin Cronin, manager of Aldi’s new Belmullet store, said staff are looking forward to welcoming people through the doors.
“We’re really looking forward to opening the new store here in Belmullet. It’s set to be a great day as we’ll be celebrating the opening of Aldi’s first store in the area, where we can provide the local community access to award-winning products at unbeatable prices.
“It’ll be lovely to welcome local customers into the new store and provide them with Aldi’s everyday amazing products. The team and I are looking forward to meeting our new customers in-store from August 13,” Mr Cronin concluded.
The doors will open at 9am.
As part of Aldi’s CSR Carbon Strategy and its commitment to the local community in Belmullet, 8,600 trees have been planted in a nearby site, with plans to plant a further 16,600 trees in two other sites in Mayo by the end of 2020.
