Louisburgh GAA club has confirmed no club or team member has been affected by a recently confirmed case of Covid-19 in the Louisburgh area that resulted in the cancellation of their Michael Walsh Intermediate Group 1 match last weekend against Balla.

In a statement last Sunday, the West Mayo club said they were suspending all activities to allow for necessary actions regarding contact tracing to take place upon learning of a confirmed case of Covid-19 in the area.

Louisburgh GAA has confirmed contact tracing has now been completed and the club is informed there are no direct implications for club members and no team member is impacted directly by the case. They have been given the green light by the Mayo County Board to resume activities this Friday, July 24.

The West Mayo Junior B Championship Group 1 fixture scheduled to take place, coincidentally against Balla, this Wednesday has been postponed to Wednesday, August 5.

“Louisburgh GAA looks forward to resuming activities and working with our colleagues in the broader GAA community,” said a spokesperson for the club.
