Mayo TD Michael Ring has been informed that good progress is being made by the Office of Public Works and Mayo County Council to deliver the long-awaited Crossmolina Flood Relief Scheme.

Deputy Ring stated, “There has been some recent delays to the programme as a result of the Covid-19 restrictions  which related mainly to additional site investigative and environmental surveys that had to be carried out.  The final environmental survey works have now resumed and they will be finalised this week.”

Deputy Ring continued, “The funding that was in place for this flood relief scheme is still ring-fenced for Crossmolina and the project team are currently finalising the EIAR (Environmental Impact Assessment Report).  It is anticipated currently that the scheme will be submitted for Confirmation in Q3 2020.”

Deputy Ring welcomed theassurance from the OPW that the Crossmolina Flood Relief Scheme is progressing satisfactorily.
