Mount Falcon Hotel in Ballina has taken al fresco dining to new levels with the construction of a purpose-built outdoor tent.
The open-air bamboo tent can accommodate 200 people.
“It’s beautiful and we’re very proud of it. I’m just putting the Child of Prague out there now!” joked Eibhlin Ni Chonghaile, Communications Manager at the hotel.
Mount Falcon re-opens this Friday, July 3.
The tent was the brainchild of the hotel’s owner and Eibhlin’s partner. Alan Maloney, who was inspired by where he would want to bring their young family.
“It’s inspired by what we have here and what we were able to enjoy in the grounds during lockdown. We know the beauty that we have here but it was just like everything was accentuated by the currency of time and just being able to sit and enjoy,” said Eibhlín.
As well as BBQ style dining, the tent will also play host to live music and special daily matinee screenings for children and families.
“I think things will be slow to start but we are noticing that there is more and more interest by the day. I think people are reassured that we have really thought this out and are making a big effort to make it as safe as possible,” said Eibhlín.
“We are hoping that as soon as you come through those gates all those anxieties and worries about distancing will go away because this will be before you,” she added.
