The North Mayo Heritage Centre has just made 67,000 new genealogy records available for research via the rootsireland.ie platform.

Located at Enniscoe in Castlehill outside Ballina, the North Mayo Heritage Centre is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the region and offers genealogical research as one of its services.

The data, which it has now made available via the rootsireland.ie website’s Mayo database, includes gravestone inscriptions from 88 burial grounds of various denominations including Roman Catholic, Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and Methodist together with six sets of Roman Catholic burial registers (dating from the early 1900s), six sets of Church of  Ireland burial registers – the earliest of which date back to 1758 – and Tithe Applotment Books from 1810 to 1938 for 26 parishes.
