There have been no new cases of Covid-19 reported in Mayo for one week. The latest figures released by the Department of Health on Sunday evening showed that the confirmed number of cases of the virus in the county remains at 570, a figure that is unchanged since Saturday last, May 30.
The figures released also showed no new cases in any of the other counties of Connacht. The figures for Galway (481 cases), Roscommon (337), Sligo (128), and Leitrim (84) are unchanged as of midnight on Friday.
There has been one more confirmed death of a person with Covid-19 in Ireland, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus to 1,679.
As of midnight Saturday, June 6, the HPSC has been notified of 25 additional confirmed cases of Covid-19, bringing to 25,201 the confirmed number of Covid-19 cases in Ireland.
The country is set to move into Phase 2 of the easing of lockdown restrictions from tomorrow (Monday). Phase 2 will see retailers be allowed to reopen and the 5km travel limit increased to allow people to travel either 20km or anywhere in their own county.
