A small convoy has just passed through Ballina and Crossmolina as part of a trial run in anticipation of the second phase of the Oweninny wind farm getting underway.

In today’s Western People, Tuesday, June 2, we reported that the wind farm developer, Oweninny Power, is aiming to commence the second phase of the project before the end of this year.

This evening’s trial run will confirm that components of the second batch of turbines to be erected on a site in the vicinity of Belacorrick in north Mayo can be safely transported along a route that takes in counties Sligo and Mayo.
