Pope Francis in the Apparition Chapel, Knock.

Knock Shrine will join Pope Francis tomorrow as he leads Marian Shrines across the world to pray for intercession and protection amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Knock’s parish priest Fr Richard Gibbons has confirmed that he received a call from Rome to be part of the prayer service on the final day of Mary’s month, Saturday, May 30.
Fr Richard will be praying in the Apparition Chapel, where Pope Francis, enjoyed a silent prayer during his 2018 visit to Knock, at 4.30pm (Irish time) while Pope Francis will pray at a replica of the Lourdes grotto in the Vatican gardens. He will be joined by families and individuals who represent the areas most involved and affected by the pandemic, including doctors and nurses, recovered patients, people who have suffered a loss, a hospital chaplain and a pharmacist.
Shrine rectors in Marian Shrines across the world including Fatima and Lourdes, will also pray to Mary on Saturday afternoon.
The Vatican prayer will be streamed live to the world in Vatican TV and EWTN while the service from Knock will be live-streamed on Knock Shrine’s website.
