Friday night entertainment it sorted everyone! We’ll all be learning to “Paint by the Pints” – thanks to a unique event that is set to be livestreamed from Ballina.
Ballina-based couple Britt Beckert and Stephen Rutledge operate the creative arts events company, Paint by the Pints.
Prior to the Covid-19 lockdown their Paint by the Pints events were growing in popularity, offering people an opportunity to learn how to paint while enjoying a few social beverages in their “local”.
With pubs now closed, the couple has evolved their event into a virtual one with Britt looking after the art and Stephen taking care of the technical/streaming element from their home on the Behy Road.
They will team up with Guinness this Friday evening, May 22 at 7pm when artist, Jill Shanley, will give step-by-step instruction on how to recreate a classic John Gilroy Guinness advert.
Special guests from Guinness will also be joining the event to provide some surprise Guinness- related activities.
Participants will walk away knowing how to pour the perfect Guinness and how to make a “black velvet” drink featuring some unlikely ingredients.
Guinness archivist, Jessica Handy will also be on hand to share some behind-the-scenes insight into the history of the painting you will be drawing.
Tickets are only €10 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to those on the front lines at IMNDA (Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association).
Guests can sign up via the website: https://www.
