Mayo football supporters won’t need reminding that next Sunday was to mark the county’s first game of the 2020 Connacht SFC. James Horan’s men were due to travel to Carrick on Shannon for a provincial quarter-final clash with Leitrim, however, there seems a growing likelihood that the game won’t take place at all this year as the GAA grapples with how to work its way through the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
