A Galway jeweller designer has decided to donate a percentage of her profits to a cause close to her heart. Sabrina Forde who runs Ruzo, a Galway jeweller will donate 4 euro from every purchase to CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) Ireland.
CRY offer free cardiac screening services and emotional support to families that have lost someone to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD). Approximately two people under the age of 35 die every week in Ireland from SCD.
Sabrina lost her brother-in-law to Sudden Cardiac Death and suffers from Atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to serious cardiac issues. Sabrina said she truly understands the importance of CRY and the work they carry out.
“I did a walk in aid of the CRY with friends a few years ago and with my brother-in-law’s anniversary this weekend, I wanted to support CRY and do something in memory of him. If I can do any good during a time of uncertainty then I will do it,” she said.
Lucia Ebbs, CEO of CRY said “Due to Covid19 we have postponed our main fundraisers alongside a number of regional fundraisers. We are so grateful for all donations and the support Ruzo is giving us during this time.”
Sabrina started Ruzo in February 2019 and named the business after her two daughters, Ruby and Zoe.
