Tallies show Alan Dillon topping the poll in Castlebar with Lisa Chambers lagging behind Rose Conway Walsh and Michael Ring.

The former Mayo footballer secured 3,145 votes on his home patch taking more than 20% of the overall vote. Sinn  Féin’s Rose Conway Walsh performed sensationally in the Castlebar area with tallies revealing she was just over 50 votes shy of Dillon.

Lisa Chambers performance in Castlebar indicates the outgoing TD is in trouble. She was outstripped by Conway Walsh and Michael Ring, finishing in fourth place following the tallying of the Castlebar boxes.

Early indications are that Dillon and party colleague Michelle Mulherin could be duking it out for the fourth and final seat. With Chambers rocking, a victory for Mulherin could leave Castlebar without a TD.
