A search for a missing Crossmolina woman has been suspended today (Monday) due to the hazardous conditions brought about by Storm Brendan.

The Ballina Garda investigation team will meet again this afternoon to access the situation, a garda spokesperson confirmed.

Patricia O’Donnell (61) was last seen on Tuesday, January 7, causing great concern to her family. Gardaí became aware she was missing on Saturday evening. It is understood her car was found.

A search involving Ballina Gardaí, the Moy River Search and Rescue, and the Grainne Uaile Search and Recovery Unit concentrated on the River Moy in the Ballina area on Sunday. The coastguard helicopter also conducted a search at low tide, while a large contingent of locals turned out to trace along the river banks.

Ms O’Donnell is described as being 5’2”, of slim build with long blonde/fair hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
