Get ready for your close-up Mayo – an open casting call will take place in Ballina Arts Centre on Saturday, September 14.
It’s to find extras to feature in the movie “Wild Mountain Thyme”, starring Jamie Dornan and Emily Blunt.
West Coast Casting is inviting anyone interested in featuring in the production to come to the casting call which will run from 10am until 4pm that day.
Adults of all ages and a small number of children are required for family party scenes in the film which will be shot in Crossmolina and Ballina between September and November of this year.
Based on the Broadway stage play “Outside Mullingar” by Oscar-winning playwright, screenwriter and director, John Patrick Shanley, “Wild Mountain Thyme” is described by the casting company as “a madcap love story with soaring lyricism” that is set in breath-taking landscapes of rural Ireland where “everyone is half-mad with loneliness or love and the weather is terrible”.
Mairead Campbell of West Coast Casting told the Western People that she is anxious to give priority in the casting to people applying from Crossmolina, Ballina and the surrounding area but will consider all candidates.
Extras will be paid for their work.
