An exciting opportunity has presented itself for anyone in Mayo or the surrounding counties that aspires to a career in the film industry.

Mayo Co Council has confirmed that a feature film will be shot in the Ballina area in the coming weeks.

The crew behind the production has already been scouting for suitable locations for shooting and has now issued an invitation for trainee film positions for locals.

Previous experience is not essential and applications from under represented communities – including but not limited to LGBTQ+, culturally and ethnically diverse communities, people with disabilities etc – are being particularly encouraged.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age; resident in Mayo; living within a 45 km radius of Ballina and its surrounding areas and be able to arrange travel to and from the work place.

Opportunities are available in the following areas: production / assistant director team; locations; camera; sound; art department; props department and wardrobe department.

Applicants should apply by emailing [email protected], detailing why you would like to get involved and any previous employment experience.
