It’s D-day today for Mayo beauties Karen McShea, Swinford, Kaylyn McGrath, Ballina and Shona Tuohy from Castlebar who contest the Miss Universe Ireland final in Dublin later this evening.
The trio were selected to contest the Irish final of the prestigious international contest following a nationwide search for the country’s 30 best ambassadors.
Relaunched under new management three years ago, Miss Universe Ireland seeks to foster job opportunities and empower young Irish women to be leaders and effect positive change in their communities.
Karen, Kaylyn and Shona have done their county proud by having been deemed suitable role models in this respect.
Swinford native, Karen McShea, is a qualified beautician and make-up artist who aspires to be a model.
Kaylyn McGrath from Ballina, an accomplished musician and singer who has just set up her own piano-teaching practice.
Shona Tuohy, who hails from Castlebar, and has already realised a major life goal in qualifying and working as a primary school teacher.
Best of luck to all three girls from all at the Western People and the people of Mayo.
