The organisers of the Westport Festival of Music and Food have confirmed that there will be no festival in Westport next year.

The decision to cancel the event in Westport after three successful years will be a blow to tourism in the town. In June of this year 20,000 music fans attended the two-day music and food extravaganza, and heard international acts like Bryan Adams, David Gray and Sinead O’Connor perform on stage in the grounds of Westport House.

The festival will be re-branded as the Killarney Festival of Music and Food, and will take place in the Kerry town on 27th and 28th June next year.
