This is the image of narth Mayo tweeted recently by Canadian astronaut Commander Chris Hadfield. He delighted hundreds of thousands of his Twitter followers when he tweeted an image of Killala Bay and the greater Ballina area from the International Space Station on April 9 last.
Commander Hadfield has become a global household name since he docked at the International Space Station on December 21 last for a long duration stay. He has made a habit of tweeting pictures of earth from outer space, earning him a phenomenal 660,700 followers on Twitter.
Last week those followers got to appreciate the beauty of Killala Bay when Chris tweeted a remarkably clear image of the area from the Space Station with the following message: “Distinctive staight, deep harbour cut leading to Ballina, Ireland.”
The image was Retweeted 363 times and favourited by 303 Twitter users, receiving several replies from proud natives of the area.
