James Horan is considering his future as Mayo manager.

The Ballintubber clubman is understood to be concerned about a number of logistical issues. These include the provision of training pitches, the availability of McHale Park and hotel bases for matches in Dublin The former county player is seeking urgent clarification on matters he feels hindered his team’s preparation at different stages last season.

A source close to the manager has said that a number of  issues need to be addressed before he commits his future to the Green and Red for another year.

Horan is entering the final year of a three-year contact and it had been widely expected he would see it out and possibly agree to an extension next year. The revelation that Horan is contemplating stepping down as Mayo boss will provoke disquiet among the general public following a positive campaign by Horan and his charges.
