Awareness of your business comes through many channels.

It could be word of mouth or networking that helps bring in customers.

But traditional solutions such as advertising and public relations are still critical in influencing the public perception of the products or services you are selling.

The saying goes that one pays for advertising, but prays for free publicity, so it helps to know the ropes when it comes to targeting the media.

A free talk on how to write and distribute press releases about your business is being delivered in Castlebar tomorrow morning.

Experienced PR and copywriting specialist Lesley Emerson (pictured) from PR West will talk about ‘DIY Press Releases’ at this month’s Mayo Open Coffee Club meeting in the Innovation in Business Centre at GMIT Castlebar, on Wednesday 3rd October at 9.30am.

“Learning how to write and distribute press releases could kickstart your publicity campaign”, said Ms. Emerson.

The MOCC mneeting will cover everything from identifying a good story angle to presenting and distributing your press release.

MOCC is a business network run by businesspeople for businesspeople. All meetings last between one hour and 90 minutes.
